IS SOME OF INFORMATION ON WHAT
OUR
HIGH QUALITY SERVICES ARE ALL ABOUT..........
I take advertising, product. architectural, and commercial shots.
How much do you charge?
I charge according to: a) the number of shots, b)the complexity of each shot, and c) intended use and production requirements. The fee is paid in installments. 50% of the fee is due on final booking at least 7 days in advance. The full fee must be paid at the time final chromes/prints are delivered.
What do I get?
I will deliver original master transparencies or chromes, mounted archivally for viewing and storage.
What are chromes and transparencies - and why?
I shoot chromes because they are color correct for standardized viewing. That means the red is the same red and the blues are the same blues - on your product, on the film, at my studio, at the magazine and at the printer. Every shot is visually inspected on the same standard 5000k light box. All prints can be matched to the original, not a "backward" negative. Chromes also offer the highest resolution available - up to 120 line pairs per millimeter. If properly stored, chromes will last 50 +years. A transparency is the original piece of film and is the most faithful record of the shot.

"Isn't that a lot?"
For any job I can make a custom internegative from my master file transparency, and from that I make a custom "C" print. It is printed on a glossy surface for maximum color saturation, durability and viewing quality. It is similar to a dye transfer print for depth of color. I ask that all reproduction of my work be handled through this office to insure top quality in order to best represent each shot. Having additional prints made at the same time is a good idea, as the more I make the less expensive each print becomes - a savings I pass on to you.
A word about prints - handle with care! Try to touch them only around the edges, over time the finger prints will hasten the decay of the print. Keep the master in a dark and dry place. Photographic dyes, like all dyes, can change with time and exposure to sunlight, ultraviolet radiation, excessive heat, and high humidity. To help prevent changes in photographic dyes, follow these guidelines:
Illuminate prints with tungsten light whenever possible. Display prints in the lowest light level whenever consistent with your viewing needs. If a print is exposed to direct or indirect sunlight or fluorescent light, use an ultraviolet absorbing filter between the light sources and the print. Keep the temperature and humidity as low as possible.
I shoot for reproduction. My transparencies are exposure calibrated to transmit the highest amount of printable information to yield the greatest latitude in reproducible color and dinsity. Printers love it because the final product looks just like the picture...great!
How much are the negatives?
I never sell the negatives. I feel it is my professional responsibility to see that every shot also receives the best printing. The prints represent both of us. All images are permanently filed, so there is no chance that they can be inadvertently lost or damaged. Duplicating services for distribution or replacement are always available with reasonable notice. It is my intention to keep originals of my shots on file as long as I remain in business. I have on file every shot I have done professionally.
How long should everything take?
A shoot should be booked 2 weeks in advance of the actual shooting day. A single, simple shot takes 2 to 3 hours, about an hour per shot after that. Chromes can be delivered in 1-2 days and final prints within three to five working days. Larger orders can be priced on request.
Is styling included in the fee?
I do not include styling in my fee. Many of my clients do not require it, and others perform these services themselves. I do provide assistance to clients who make requests. I test with polaroid to make sure we have the desired look. For more complex shots, such as fashion, house wares, food, etcetera. you should consider hiring a professional stylist or art director.
